37th Anniversary of Elvis Presley's Death

Last month, on August 16th, millions remembered the death of Elvis Presley thirty-seven years ago. It was one of those events that most people can tell you exactly where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news. My neighbor and best friend came over and told us the news. She said her mother was crying...I was eight years old and although I knew who Elvis was, I didn't realize the impact of his death until many years later.

I, like many, watched several television specials last month admiring Elvis' talent and thought what a huge lost to the entertainment community. I wonder what he would be singing today if he was still alive?

I was so excited this month when I found this licensed Elvis handbag during one of my outings. On the front, a young Elvis is sitting on his Harley Panhead motorcycle (Elvis loved motorcycles) reminiscent of Marlon Brando in "The Wild One."  Several rhinestones adorn the front of the purse and a touch of color is added to this black and white purse with Elvis' signature in red.

Often when I'm sourcing items for the store, I find things that I want to keep instead of selling. I had to argue with myself to sell this...You guys are lucky that it made it in the store :)
