It occurred to me when I was taking pictures of them that I really didn't know that much about Bob Dylan. My first exposure to him was when I was in high school and he sang a line in the Michael Jackson's "We Are The World." As teenagers do, we spent the next several weeks doing our best Dylan impressions.
I really don't listen to his music and can't say that I am a fan. My only other exposure to this singer has been through the many impressions by comedians. Here's one I like by Jimmy Fallon.
I decided to look him up...Here are some things I learned about the controversial singer.
1. He was born Bobby Zimmerman on May 24, 1941.
2. In the early years of his career, he played harmonica for a Harry Belafonte recording.
3. Many of his lyrics became anthems for civil rights and anti-war movements.
4. Dylan flunked out of the University of Minnesota.
5. He has been actively performing since 1959.
6. Bob Dylan appeared in the first episode of The Johnny Cash Show.
7. His first wife, Sara Lownds, was a Playboy bunny.
8. Dylan toured with the Grateful Dead in 1987.
9. He is an accomplished painter.
10. He is the winner of ten Grammy Awards.
So now you and I know a little more about Dylan.
