John Lennon's Give Peace A Chance

This week I came across this John Lennon Give Peace A Chance t-shirt while searching for inventory for the store. I saw it from across the room and practically ran to get it in my hands. I love this shirt!

This silhouette is such a recognizable symbol for world peace. It got me thinking about what John Lennon would think about today's headlines...ISIS, terrorism, school shootings, North Korea's desire for nuclear weapons, etc.  He wasn't an artist without fault but seemed to care more about the state of the world than his image and that made him iconic.

On December 8, 1980, John Lennon was assassinated in New York City by Mark David Chapman. Like others that were taken too early, you can't help but wonder about what kind of music and art he would be producing today. I was only eleven years when he was killed so I didn't have the understanding then that I do today of his words. As the anniversary of his death approaches, take a moment to read the lyrics to his songs Give Peace A ChanceImagine, Beautiful Boy, and Working Class Hero. The man had an agenda...His music and words made you think and feel.

I ask you, how can you not want to be kind to your fellow man after listening to these songs?
